The mission of Cochran Mill Park and Nature Center is to encourage community awareness and active environmental stewardship through education and wildlife rehabilitation programs.
The park is located in Palmetto, GA.
The park has many trails ideal for hiking and some amazing views of natural waterfalls.
I spent many hours as a child exploring the woods and finding new spots to stop and take a swim.
An old abandoned bridge is the only evidence of man besides a stone wall that held a water wheel.
The waterfalls are small, but they leave an impression.
Leap of faith. That's what we called this infamous spot. Luckily no one got hurt having fun.
Unfortunately, vandalism is evident under the bridge and on some rocks.
The park has a few hidden water holes.
I loved jumping off the top of that massive boulder.
No worries, just relaxation in this backwoods paradise.
The Nature Center offered close up encounters with a variety of reptiles and birds of prey!
This Red Tailed Hawk is a rescue from Auburn, Alabama. He was a candidate to be flown around the stadium during home football games.
